1.1 understand the arrangement, movement and energy of the particles in each of the three states of matter: solid, liquid and gas



Solids
As the picture shows, all the particles in a solid are touching. Another feature of a solid is that the particles aren't moving, the particles have no energy.

Liquids
Liquid particles are, like solids, all touching. The difference is that liquid particles are moving- they flow to fit the space- this means that they have some energy.

Gas
In gasses the particles aren't all touching; they are far apart. They move freely and have a high energy level.

  2. This is super helpful. Basically, I was in my chemistry class and the girl next to me was on this website and our teacher looked at it and he loved it! He announced it to the class for us to use, and even went and got the other science teachers in the school to look at it! It's a great resource for revision for End of Years and GCSE courses.   4. Particles in a solid do have energy just not very much so they vibrate at a certain frequency which isnt noticeable to a human

  5. Apologies Hannah, this may have taken ages to do but your descriptions lack technical vocabulary. These are required to obtain marks. Solids do have energy, by the way. These seem hastily created.
